Britney & Marion

I've known Britney since middle school. She and I went to school together. Although she is younger than I am, attending a small Christian school, we knew everyone. I was thrilled when she asked me to photograph her wedding to Marion.

While photographing their engagement session, I knew working with them on their wedding day would be a ton of fun, and it was.

We started the day off at a bridesmaids house, where the girls got ready and we captured a few details shots. We then went over to the Orangeburg Gardens to get the first looks, bridal party and a few family photos. I always forget how beautiful the Gardens are. The Spanish moss, trees and swamp area beside the Edisto river are gorgeous. Not to mention, its a lot of fun to ride through during Christmas and see all of the pretty lights.

After we left the Gardens, we headed over to St. Pauls Church for the ceremony. The Reception was at The Cinema. As a kid, I used to go see movies on the big screen, and now its a reception hall, so wild.

Britney really did an amazing job with the reception decor. There were so many beautiful lit trees, canvases and other decor that made the space so inviting. She even had a backdrop with the couch they used for engagements. Perfect spot for guests to take photos.

Near the end of the reception, we had a special visit from Santa. My first Santa sighting at a wedding and it was magical. He passed our candy canes and smiles through the next hour. Once it was time for the exit, Santa pulled up in his red convertible and took the couple for a spin around the block. We waved sparklers and once the couple made it back, they returned inside for the remainder of the party. What a reception! The day was perfect.
